BOG6ON
I agree with electricyellowz, a pair is the way to go,but in my experiences you need to have a few and wait till they pair up and then seperate the pair.
electricyellowz
Exactly what bog6on said. Leave all the ones you have in a tank and you will soon find out which 2 are the pair.
boydie
i have them in a 3 ft tank, bear bottom with 2 grape mellon sized rocks, quite close together. should i add a breeding site/cave to the tank or will this cause. what do you guys think. cheers boydie
electricyellowz
Put in a few pvc pipes that are cut at around 15cm long and silicon a piece of tile or something to the back so it only has one entrance. THats how I found out which two were my pair...by them breeding inside the pipe!

midnite_racer
Hi, pairs are the best method. I use a flat rock to make the aquarium look natural. Good luck.
Munruben1
Quote Is it right that humphead's need a complete dark spot to breed as their eggs cannot get light on them. Have breed a lot & really do not think the light was an issue but most times mine had big spawns the lights had not been on for a few days I
Link2Hell
I have bred both casuarius and tinanti and if the female is conditioned and fat she will find a place to spawn they do prefer a cave or pipe for security and I have spawned them in inverted flower pots, pleco logs, cichlid caves, shells and a hollow in a piece of texas holy rock that was in a pile

fishdance
The eggs won't hatch in light. Parents know this and will choose a dark cave. Tinanti prefering a narrow entrance they can guard easily (often from outside)
