Is that place like an auction for fish or something?

Why are they all in bags like that?

Its a huge street, has prolly 30 aquariums all up. In the way of equipment you can get anything. As for fish, they are flooded with hybrids, guppies, discus and fighters! However there are quite a few gems scattered through the place. They get bagged up at the start of the day, and unbagged at the end! woot.gif

They are fabulous photos Alistair - some of the best I have ever seen on this site. It is interesting to get a foreign perspective on fish keeping.

The fact that the fish cost 1/10 of here is a little frustrating but if fish were that cheap I would probably have 5 or 6 more tanks.

Great pics and its great for people like me to be able to 'experience' something that I probably wont be able to in the real life, for a long time at least...

It's a bit sad too in a way though. Those fish that are bagged all day didn't all look like betta's to me? I don't really like the idea of bagging a fish for a 14 hour auction stint once off, but imagine every day til the shop sold it huh.gif I'm not saying that treatment of betta's is ok, but its more tolerable IMO than other species who don't live in hoofprints...

Although all the animals look in fantastic health thumb.gif

That is a chinese sailfin, Myxocyprinus asiaticus and the dovii are $HK75 divide that by 6 for aussie currency! thats around $12 for a 35cm dovii. Pretty good prices i rekon thumb.gif

Have a few more pics, i took around 90 in total.
