  1. LED Lighting

Hey Rob, Been a while. I myself use the Dalua range and also the UP Aqua Pro z series. Find it brings out some clear white lighting and they can be switched to only blue leds (great for viewing in the dark). Which Haps are in your 10fter now?
  2. anyone still breeding msobo ? not many around

Ben that is a good quantity of fry you have there! Keep me posted would definitely love to add another bloodline to my existing fry. Just over 4cm in size now
  3. Total wipeout

Had something similar happen to a 6fter and rack I had in the garage. It gave them massive lesions but from viewing no visible signs of aggression so it must have been something. Could have been gill flukes but my fish never sat on the bottom of the tank unless sleeping. I think my reasoning behind the sudden deaths in a short span of two weeks was spikes in the weather. Fluctuations cold nights and hot days.

  5. anyone still breeding msobo ? not many around

Hey guys just wondering if there has been any updates on everyone's existing colonies. I got a batch of fry that I managed to get my hands on hopefully get a good ratio from that.
  6. Seeding my Tank - Mistakes already

Preferably weekly but a water test is what you really need to determine your actual water parameters. Should be free of charge at most LFS
  7. detrius in tank water quality and circulation

Hey penny, First time reading just your post. If you are running an airpump it's worth investing in a sponge filter or 2? It bumps up the filtration within your tank, provides gas exchange (oxygen) and clears up the detrius floating around in your water. If your concerned about the aesthetics of the tank then hide it behind some holey rock or a large ornament. Hope this helps!
  8. Pots for hidding

Grabbed about 10 pots from Masters the other day for about $9 pretty good I'd say
  9. anyone still breeding msobo ? not many around

Buccal please send some down this way (Sydney) to get the population going again!
  10. Sexing Zebras an idea I have

Second what ducksta said. Remove the males one by one and if females hold then it's a dead giveaway. Requires 2 tanks though.
  11. Mbuna aquarium

It's an amazing setup indeed. Beats my texas holey rock and crushed coral sand setup... Gotta set one up like this as well. Led lights? Bonsai rocks? Black Tahitian moon sand? And the background is it painted black?
  12. lost 4 small bristle nose in one day, please help!

If it's just common Bn it's quite affordable but getting them when they are at least 3cm is a must. Just much stronger at this stage. Your low ammonia levels and zero nitrite, nitrate reading could possibly mean the tank isn't cycled or that something died quite recently and is still around in your tank.
  13. NSWCS buying power?

Hey guys know this is a pretty ancient post. But reading this has got me thinking instead of sharing fish and pooling funds together. Why not everyone put some input into certain species of fish we are losing numbers in. Such as those you have not seen around for a while. This would serve as an indicator to multiple members that "hey maybe we should purchase these if the opportunity arises". Effectively we still are keeping our own fish and just aiming towards the goal of preserving different species. Kinda building awareness to members like myself that have only been in the fish scene for a few years. Thanks FY.
  14. Nls food for fronts

I'll second that Luke. I think in a few years time their "sinking" pellets should revert back to sinking pellets. What size are your Frontosa? NLS Thera A+ do come in 3 sizes 1,2,3mm. I can PM you a few places you could visit to stock up.
  15. lost 4 small bristle nose in one day, please help!

Hey mate, Glad to see your into the hobby. Not to be discouraged but could you go to your LFS and see if you can get a Ammonia,Nitrite,Nitrate test? I find these tests are much more important than a simple pH test. Also you can make a simple diagnosis by examining the dead body of your fish. If there are missing scales and torn fins your angel might have attacked them. Any more problems regarding your fish feel free to PM me or just open up a new topic.
