  6. boy i would love to go to it but the drive is a killer from new castle not so much down it on the way back that is
  7. Hi expat, I was searching for Dalbarb suppliers a year or so back. Had no luck. That was all I ever purchased if I wanted a nice stand and hood. Assume they just went out of business. Cheers, Jason
  8. Thanks everyone for the feedback - it’s much appreciated.

  10. I am not sure mate... I had them for about 8 months now. Some are about 15 cm.. some are about 8 cm .. I think they are between 12 to 18 months .. just a guess ..
  11. Steve & Ren are fantastic to deal with and do a great job with tank install +1 Western Sydney Aquariums Regards, Mo
  12. @expat701 hi and welcome back what part of Sydney are you in ? Western Sydney Aquariums do nice tanks and are reasonably priced based at Penrith but like most businesses travel to do install work
  13. @expat701 Welcome to the forum and back into fish keeping. Are you looking for a display tank or a breeding set up ? I have a cade tank, its a good tank but the cost is on the higher side. You can negotiate price etc. Juwel is also very good from a quality perspective. I have gone through this process (tank, lights, filters, heaters etc) a few months back. If you research and happy to take time, you can get a significant discounts off retail prices.
  14. I don't know if they are the best but I've been pleased with the two tanks and cabinets I've had made at Abyss Aquarium. They manufacture on site in Gregory Hills with pretty competitive pricing considering the quality of the work.
  15. Hi, I’m just getting back into the hobby again after 15 years. I’m wanting to get a nice cabinet and tank. Back when I was last keeping fish, Dalbarb were very popular, however I don’t see their products advertised anywhere. Is Dalbarb still in business? Failing that, who makes the best cabinets and tanks in Sydney? Thanks in advance for your advice.
  16. @Beaz seems to be working well and you have brought a good thought up also with the food flavouring the crickets BTW I think it might be Mrs Polleni
  17. We have noticed the pollini has started eating FLAKES, I have still been giving him crickets, but the other fish get a large variety of foods- which he avoids. The crickets eat alot of the FKC bloodworm and brineshrimp fish food flakes from QLD (My favourite flake food by far) and we're guessing they must have started tasting/smelling like the FKC flakes, because mr. pollini just started grazing on flakes one night and has done ever since. The bloodworm flavour got him more than brine shrimp flavour, and I swear the crickets eat heaps more of it than the fish. I suppose I should feed the crickets Hikari pellets now....
  18. I have 1 acuticeps left in the prime of its breeding life 2 years old. It is the one that was here years ago. Got the parent ages ago from @sorrozFrom chilumba. Both imports to aust on west coast. More recent from senga bay. My one not senga bay. I am happy to donate it to someone if they can prove to me if that variant is still around and they have a colony of that type. I have no use for one. Should be bred if still around fyi @humbug
  19. Hi All I know everyone is hanging to get to a meeting but once again the committee has decided to cancel the meeting due to the ongoing restrictions we have on use not only with distancing but the school itself The way things are going I'm wondering if Santa will even make it this year stay tuned for monthly updates Illawarra will still be holding their meeting on 14/11/20 as far as I know at Koonawarra Primary School See on Facebook for details - there is a limit of 50 people in the hall and I'm told this fills fast
  20. Oh okay.. I know what you mean.. tank space is the issue.. I wish I had unlimited space to have a small indoor aquarium 🤪 I am trying to convince my wife to extend the house a bit so I can put a few more tanks. But the house is only 2 years old.. so she is not keen .. oh well.
  21. Nah mate. I sold my Mustax breeding pair and the last batch of fry last week. I had some Walteri in my grow out that have matured now and started to pair up so I moved them into it. With the move to the smaller fish room I have to use my tank space a bit wiser. I was close to listing my sexfasciatus gold pair for sale as I contemplated using the 4 footer I have earmarked for them in the new fishroom for something else. They are sitting on a spawn now though so holding onto them for a while longer and will now move them into the 4 footer soon.
  22. Wow, very nice mix you have there. I was tang exclusive 12 or so months ago but I have moved some fish on and changed it up a bit. 24. Well, I'm down to 5 rasboras. He didn't eat them all, I found one stuck behind driftwood, one jumped out, and one floater. One or two were not as full bodied as the rest, so I assume they were genetically weak and they needed to go anyway. I've been giving the pollini the odd bait worm which he seems to like.
